Just this side of heaven is a place called the RainbowBridge
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run
and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent.  His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together….

Stormey” UKC CH Bahalema’s Smokey Mtn was our foundation stud dog and proved himself by breeding with 18 different females, three of ours, all producing top quality show and companion pups. His super thick coat, gentle temperament and awesome movement made him a popular choice for breeders.   In 2001, he won a Sire Award of Merit for producing excellent offspring.  Stormey passed away June 13, 2005.  He was 15 and a half and went quietly.  He will always be in our hearts and we think of him as the “old man in the boat”.  He loved to go fishing with Mike, even when it was snowing or raining.  He loved all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  They would try and play with him until the end and would hang on his coat like Velcro.   He would just grumble and give them rides around the yard.  He is Cruella’s father out of Smokey Mtn’s Misty Morn.  He is now over the Rainbow Bridge with Misty who was his life mate and partner.  Stormey and Misty were our true foundation dogs, and we miss them so very much.

"A picture is worth a thousand words" … this is our "Cruella". Her eyes, her smile, her gentle ways were just part of what made her special. The combination of a loving temperament, black points, flowing movement, and superb coat, made her almost one of a kind. She earned all of her titles, with little assistance from us. She finished her show career with 3 five-point majors. She earned her last 5 at the Rose City Classic, Portland, OR, Feb. 2001, by defeating two specials for Best of Breed. She was and continues to be Candi’s soul mate.  Without her we would not have the dogs we do.
